1. Accreditation

Accreditation is granted at the sole discretion of Janta Se Rishta after verification of your identity documents and registration payment. It may be refused without an obligation to give reasons beyond those recorded on your application.

2. The press card

The press ID card remains the property of Janta Se Rishta. It is personal and non-transferable, must be produced on demand, and must be surrendered when accreditation ends. Loss of a card must be reported to the office immediately.

3. Registration fee

The registration fee is a one-time processing fee. It is payable in advance and is verified manually. Unless the organisation states otherwise in writing, the fee is not refundable once an application has been verified and decided.

4. Relationship

Accreditation does not by itself create an employment relationship. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, an accredited reporter is an independent contributor.

5. Content you file

You confirm that what you file is your own work, or that you have the right to file it.
You confirm that you have verified the facts to the best of your ability.
You must not file defamatory, obscene, communal or knowingly false material.
You must respect the privacy and dignity of the people you write about, especially minors and victims of crime.
You grant Janta Se Rishta the right to edit, publish and archive what you file.

6. Editorial control

Every submission is subject to editorial review. The desk may edit, hold, return for correction or decline any story. Publication on the main news website is at the sole discretion of the editorial team.

7. Revenue and commission

Commission is calculated as a percentage of revenue actually recorded by the organisation against your published work. The percentage is set per reporter within the range configured by the organisation. Commission is not a guaranteed or minimum payment, and is not based on page views. Payments are made manually and recorded in your ledger.

8. Prohibited use of the card

The press card must never be used to demand money, favours, free goods or access, to intimidate any person, or to represent yourself as an employee or officer of the organisation. Any such use will lead to immediate suspension of accreditation and may lead to legal action.

9. Suspension and termination

Accreditation may be suspended or terminated for breach of these terms, for conduct that damages the organisation's reputation, or where required by law. Your news and financial records are retained after termination for audit purposes.

10. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done under your account. Tell the office at once if you believe your account has been used by someone else.

11. Changes

These terms may be updated. Continuing to use the portal after a change means you accept the updated terms.
